Frontier Cow was hand painted by Alexander Creswell, internationally celebrated, watercolour artist. Famed for his paintings of Windsor Castle after the fire and restoration, commissioned by the Royal Family and appointed as Prince of Wales’ official artist. “I am very proud to be Arts Patron of CowParade, the world’s largest public art event which is coming to Surrey this Summer. I have painted on many things; paper, canvas, ceilings, yachts & cars but never on a cow before!” says Alexander. Renowned for his ability to convey the atmosphere and spirit of a place through his paintings; Alexander has unquestionably captured the beauty and tranquillity of the Surrey Hills. One side of the cow’s body shows the breathtaking views across Albury Valley from Newlands Corner, the hills drenched in a peaceful, Spring sunset. Whilst the other side contrasts with a moody, urban skyline. This demonstrates the frontier or contrast between urban and rural.
