About the Artist:

I’m a multimedia artist, museum and university visual arts instructor, widely exhibited and in several private and corporate collections. I spent several years living in Belgium and France as a museum copyist and landscape artist and presently create copies and portraits in oil on commission. I’m a children’s book oral history author and illustrator, and have a studio at the Santa Monica Airport where two cows for the Madonna Inn will be getting dressed in time for Cow Parade SLO.

Tell us about both of your cows?

Through my artwork I enjoy sparking the process of creativity in others; turning viewers into participants. In my own work, I’ve discovered that solving a self-imposed theoretical problem has a synergistic effect upon creativity.

When is a cow not just a cow?

When we allow ourselves to daydream, imagining cows with new configurations, the visual arts become components of a process that expands and invigorates our world.

At best, my enjoyment and success is contagious and results in observers beginning to ask themselves, “what if…?”
