About the Artist:

My name is Kerry Donlon-Bowen. My husband, David and I live on a small ranch in Miguel, Ca. I am a self taught artist that goes by the name K. Donlon on all of my art and my business is K. Donlon Designs. I have been painting for over 50 years.

My artwork has included murals for businesses, restaurants and private homes, along with painting on leather clothing for Rodeo Queen Pageants in the U.S. and Canada. I am also the official poster artist for Calif. Midstate Fair (8 yrs.) and created all the art cartoon characters of Paso Pete and his friends. I would be excited to do some “Fun Art” and paint a cow for The Cow Parade! My painted cow is titled “Cow-a-fornia”, and she represents our state!

Tell us more about “Cow-a-Fornia”?

The inspiration for my artwork on my cow came from a leather jacket I painted a a few years ago for Miss Rodeo California. Her name was Markie Battaglia and she was competing for Miss Rodeo America. I painted the whole state of California all over her jacket and added the points of interest , the state flag, flower, symbols, birds, etc. It was a huge hit in Las Vegas!
