About the Artist:

I came to San Luis Obispo County in 1988 to pursue a teaching credential at California Polytechnic State University-SLO after graduating from the University of California – Santa Barbara. I have taught in schools throughout SLO County as both an elementary teacher and an art docent, since 1989. In 2012, I opened Boyd & Bradley Art Studio (named after my grandmothers) in Atascadero, as a venue to continue my art teaching passion to students ranging in ages from 3 to 70. When I am not teaching art, I like painting watercolors and acrylics, and creating ceramic art. Nature is my preferred subject matter.

Why did you paint “Every Child is an Artist”?

My wish is for people of all ages to be inspired to make their own art after seeing my cow. My message is that art doesn’t have to be perfect to make people smile. Pablo Picasso said, “All children are artists” and having taught art to thousands of kids, I know this to be true. I believe that all adults are artists too! My wish is for people of all ages to be inspired to make their own art after seeing my cow.
